Summer Reading Guest Presenters!
Check out the incredible guest presenters we have lined up for the rest of the summer!
CTR Changing Lives: Meet Buttons the Shetland Pony and learn all about adaptive riding lessons and equine therapy with fun, ground-based activities (there is no riding involved).
Mr. Jon and Friends: Mr. Jon and his silly friend George the Monkey will have you laughing and dancing along. Using rhymes, songs, books, and puppets, this interactive musical comedy show is a performance not to be missed.
The Fifty 7's: Sing, dance, and play along during this interactive music performance. Experience guitar, ukulele, and percussion as you explore many different styles of music.
Wildlife Adventures: Through gentle live-animal encounters, kids will discover nature’s artistry while learning how they can help wildlife.
Friday, July 18 1:00-3:00 pm Havre de Grace Library | Grade 3-8 We will be creating faux glass sculptures inspired by the artist Dale Chihuly. Supported by the Havre de Grace Friends of HCPL.
Various times and locations | Grade K-5 Get cozy with our doggie volunteers and read a good book during a one-on-one session with a well-trained therapy dog.
Tuesday, July 22 6:00-7:00 pm Havre de Grace Library | Grade 6-12 & Adult Test your knowledge about the magical Boy Who Lived, his hidden world, and his loyal friends! Supported by the Havre de Grace Friends of HCPL.
Friday, July 25 3:00-4:30 pm Joppa Library | Grade 9-12 & Adult Wordsmith Poetry is a welcoming community for poets, storytellers, and writers to share their voices and connect through the power of words. Created by poet, writer and multimedia artist Crystal Charlotte Lynch this inclusive space offers open mics and creative gatherings for artists of all experience levels.
Wednesday, July 30 3:00-5:00 pm Whiteford Library | Grade 6-12 & Adult Paint your very own masterpiece with others. All supplies provided. Supported by the North Harford Friends of HCPL. Each person attending must register prior to the program.*
Saturday, July 19 2:00-3:00 pm Bel Air Library | All Ages Meet author and educator Alison Humphreys and discuss her book, 50 Hikes with Kids: Virginia & Maryland, with Delaware, West Virginia and Washington DC. A homeschool parent and licensed psychotherapist, Alison emphasizes the importance of hands-on, child-led learning and unstructured time in nature and its benefits for mental health and education. Copies of her book will be available for purchase and signing after the event. Each person attending must register prior to the program.*
